– Children in the pre-school classrooms invite mothers, fathers or other relatives or friends to join them for muffins, donuts, and juice. Family members are invited to join in the children's regular morning activities.
– The carnival is put on by the Parent Advisory Group for Newbury School families. Fun activities include: a moon bounce, a merry-go-round, a stilt walker, balloon animals, popcorn, cotton candy and a bake sale. Children can participate in a variety of games and activities such as egg races, relays, and a bubble table.
– Newbury School "adopts" dozens of families through the Salvation Army. Newbury families provide food and gifts to the adoptive families around the Christmas holiday. We have traditionally been one of Anne Arundel county’s biggest contributors to this program.
– Newbury School staff and families join together to donate food for the needy during this holiday season.
– We celebrate this special month with a number of events, including our annual tea party. The children don their best clothes and manners, our little ladies are escorted to tea by our little gentleman, and special treats are enjoyed by all. In addition, as part of our "children helping children" events, our students do a wonderful job helping to raise money for St. Jude's Children’s Hospital with our annual St. Jude’s Bike-a-Thon.
– Other events are scheduled throughout the year and take place during the school day. Some of our recent events have been puppet shows, the ZooMobile, and education field trips to the Science Center and a restaurant. Kidsinger Jim and Wild Willy Woo Woo have also visited our school.
