Located in the Crofton/Gambrills area, Newbury School features 11 large, secure classrooms and an age-certified outdoor play area covered with artificial turf.

Newbury School is located in Anne Arundel County in the Crofton/Gambrills area on 1.3 acres of land. The 8000 square-foot building has 11 large classrooms. All rooms are open and airy and are equipped with age-appropriate toys and furnishings. Infant rooms have separate crib and activity areas.

The safety and security of our facilities is never left to chance. We employ tight security for all entrances. Doors are never left unlocked. Single-action locks prevent unauthorized entry without hindering escape in an emergency. All parents and visitors must sign in, and buzzers sound when someone enters or leaves the building. A staff member is assigned at all times to monitor entrances.

Our building and grounds are designed to provide a safe, stimulating environment for learning and play.

All equipment is regularly inspected and assessed for optimal safety. Furniture is appropriately sized for the age of the child and is tip-resistant and designed without sharp corners.

Age-certified, individual playgrounds are available for each age group to allow for safe and active outdoor play. Artificial turf surfaces around the building provide a safe, clean and durable surface for transitioning between activities. The school is surrounded by a privacy fence.

No adult worker is hired at Newbury without a signed physical exam from a doctor to certify his or her health. All state-required standards for health are met or exceeded.

We are alert and aware of our surroundings and ask that parents help by reporting anything out of the ordinary to us and the local authorities. We do not permit adults or children on our property unless they have an affiliation with our school.
